Immunoprecipitation of proteins at very low expression levels
using GST-Trap and MBP-Trap
GST- and MBP-fusion proteins in combination with corresponding affinity matrices is a well-established method to analyze protein interactions using co-precipitation assays.
Here we describe two innovative tools GST-Trap and MBP-Trap. These two affinity resins exploit the exceptional high affinity of camelid single domain antibodies (also called Nanobodies or VHHs) to GST and MBP respectively.
Both allow the efficient immunoprecipitation of GST- and MBP-fusion proteins even at very low expression levels.
